EMERGENCY SERVICES/NHS

The Emergency Services have to deal with media interviews on a continual basis and handle demands from reporters for detail about specific incidents. Questioning can be probing and sometimes hostile  with little or no time for preparation.

This type of interview is known as a “doorstep” and the nature of this exchange means that the interviewee needs to take immediate control, identifying key messages, articulating them clearly then calling an end to the exchange when  the messages have been conveyed.

GOVERNMENT/
PUBLIC SECTOR

We have extensive experience in training civil servants and politicians who represent major government departments.  These range from Environment, Roads, Agriculture, Fisheries, to Finance, Arts, Health and Education and Justice.

Our clients are located in London, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow and Edinburgh representing the respective executive departments located in each.

PRIVATE SECTOR/
NOT FOR PROFIT

Crises are not restricted to government and the public sector.  Private sector companies such as banks, high street businesses,  and airlines hire us to help them prepare for tough interviews and media questioning. In the Not For Profit Sector, we work with major charities and housing associations to develop and  articulate key messages and promote their organisations.

We also work with leading Public Relations companies who bring their clients to us with specific scenario briefs.

ABOUT US

Media emergencies happen - often without warning. Our media training prepares you and your spokespeople to be on the front foot in an emergency and to cope with the barrage of media questions that may result.

We have twenty five years experience in delivering media training to front line spokespeople who will appear on television and radio answering tough questions on controversial issues. Michael Macmillan is a seasoned national and international journalist bringing years of front line experience as a correspondent / presenter for ITN  the BBC and Sky News to the role of showing clients how to avoid the pitfalls of media interrogation.

Working alongside Michael, is Jane Veitch (former GMTV and ITV presenter).

Together they have trained hundreds of spokespeople from every sector, but we have significant specific experience in crisis media training for emergency services.
